WORKING WITH NICHOLE:

“Nichole possesses a unique ability to determine the function of negative behavior and develop programming to teach positive, replacement behaviors.” ~ D.H., Behavior Specialist

“We have known Nichole Martin for the past 6 ½ years and for 3 ½ years of those years Nichole worked with our son, Spencer.  Her work consisted of teaching early intervention programs for our autistic son. Nichole also worked on the development of new programs. Her demonstrates a desire to establish best for any of the children she works with is all that a parent would want.  I personally consider Nichole Martin an excellent worker, who takes personal pride in the gains our son has made. She clearly communicates progress and opportunities. Nichole is eager to try new things and is not satisfied with the status quo. She is able to handle multiple challenges and is determined to complete them. She began working with our son while doing her undergraduate studies and was employed through her graduate work. She learned fast and quickly became our top therapist. Her work was instrumental in the gains our son made over the 3 ½ years she worked with us. I have the utmost trust in her and would consider her an excellent resource for any family who is looking for someone who will be able to write and deliver programs for Autistic Spectrum Disorders.  I would highly recommend Essence of Behavior to provide consultation for any family desiring the best care and therapy for their children.” ~ T. Floore

"I have known Nichole for 4 years and worked with her at a residential school for children with autism for 2 years.  I am impressed with her immediate confidence in both her behavioral implementation and her ability to construct positive bonds with the special needs students we serve.  Throughout my time working with Nichole, I was constantly inspired by her fierce dedication, compassion, and knowledge of and for the students.  During her time at our residential program Nichole quickly took on a role of advocate for our students, and really gave them a voice, where they may not have had one before. She fought for our students, and was constantly looking to find more effective ways to teach skills that our students could learn to maintain." ~ J.M. Group Home Program Coordinator

ABOUT THE AUTISM ALLIANCE PARTNERSHIP TRAINING:

“I attended Nichole's Autism Alliance training. Wow! Prior to attending my only real thought of Autism was how children and families of those children are affected. It never really occurred to me children with Autism eventually become adults with Autism, adults who will need employment and who will likely be discriminated against by popular personality profiling tests that seem to be a growing part of the hiring process. I left the training with a sense I could play a positive role in helping to open doors for adults with Autism. I also realized there were likely individuals I interviewed over the years who were on the spectrum. Looking back, I can see now I could have approached those interactions in a better way...taken more time to wait for a response versus talking over the person...offered more options for the environment we met in for our interview (quiet, noisy, bright, dark). I am thrilled to be more aware. Nichole's knowledge and delivery allowed my own mind to explore how I fit in the equation. Without her intervention,my mind never would have arrived at that point. I'm extremely pleased. Aside from the training being a bargain, it's impossible to put a price on walking out of a session less ignorant than when you walked in. I encourage people to listen to Nichole's message and join her efforts.” ~L. Wiley-Parker hired Nichole as a Business Consultant in July 2010
